Jason Segel is adding to his home portfolio, as the former How I Met Your Mother and Freaks and Geeks actor just picked up a 5,635-square-foot home in Pasadena.

Segel paid $4.23 million for the five-room, five-bathroom abode, dates back to 1919. The 100-year-old Los Angeles home sits on almost half an acre of land, with a cheerful red front door that leads into a foyer.

The living room is finished with white radiated roofs and paneled walls, as well as wood floors and a chimney.

The eat-in kitchen is furnished with stainless steel Miele appliances and a marble-topped center island and breakfast bar. That’s in addition to the corner dinner banquette niche and formal lounge area, per the listing held by Compass agent Thomas Atamian, who declined to comment.

The kitchen opens up to an extra family room, which in turn has direct access to the terrace.

The majority of the rooms are on the second floor, including the master suite, which has a private relaxing lounge, a walk in closet and an enormous restroom with marble ledges, twofold sinks and a glass-enclosed walk in shower, notwithstanding a different tub. There’s also an at-home rec center, however the listing notes this could be changed into one more room or maybe an “writer’s space.”

Outside, there’s a newly installed custom pool and spa, with an al fresco dining zone underneath a trellis, in addition to a lounge zone and a fire pit.

Segel has kept himself occupied on the real estate front in the course of the last several years, and he as of now possesses one home in Los Angeles—he paid artist Shepard Fairey $2.25 million for his Los Feliz house back in 2016.

Located on the east bank of the Arroyo Seco, this meticulously renovated 1919 estate sits in a bed of mature oaks on a nearly one-half acre lot. Step inside & you’re greeted by an entrance foyer, which leads to the light filled living room with its large windows looking west toward the Arroyo. Beyond the oversized formal dining room is the designer kitchen with state-of-the-art Miele appliances, a center island, breakfast bar, dining banquette & dual wine fridges.

The eat-in kitchen is adjacent to the family room, which overlooks & provides direct access to the backyard that features a newly installed, custom pool & spa with a newly constructed outdoor living space including an al fresco dining & lounge area complete with a fire pit. Upstairs you will find four bedrooms, including a master suite with a lounge/changing area as well as a walk-in closet. A separate set of stairs lead up to the private gym, which could also be utilized as a writer’s loft or 6th bedroom. This property, highlighted by mature trees, natural light, & high ceilings, is a refreshingly livable home. There is also an additional guest room & bath which can be accessed through a private entrance. The two car garage could be converted to a pool house, game room or ADU(check with city).
